Privacy Policy

  • To give visitors of FSX Addons a clear overview of what FSX Addons does with the gathered information from users through membership and tracking, I have written this privacy policy.
  • Note: Throughout this document, a visitor is ofter addressed as 'he'. In all cases, this actually means 'he/she'.

Registration Information

  • FSX Addons requires people to register for an account to be able to post comments, post on the messageboard and upload files. Only name, password and email address are required for this registration, the rest can be left blank if wanted to. Your email address will only be visible for the FSX Addons administrators. This information will never be given out or sold to anyone.

Information through tracking (including cookies)

  • To keep record of how many visitors and downloads FSX Addons has on a daily basis, FSX Addons has a visitor tracking system. The visitor counter works with IP's, which means that when someone visits FSX Addons, his IP will be recorded and stored for 24 hours. This IP is not visible for any regular visitor, again only to the FSX Addons administrators and will never be given out or used for any other thing than the FSX Addons counter.
  • The download counter works with cookies. When a person downloads a file, a cookie will be stored on this person's PC (if he has cookies enabled that is). This cookie only contains the file ID and the time and will be valid for 24 hours before it's deleted automatically. Again, this information is ONLY for FSX Addons download counting, nothing else.

Login System (cookies)

  • The FSX Addons login system uses cookies to keep the person logged in. These cookies will only be used by FSX Addons to keep you logged in and make it easier to post messages and upload files. Logging in is optional in all cases.

Posting comments or messages on the messageboard (IP's)

  • When a person posts a comment on FSX Addons or on the messageboard, his IP will be recorded with the message. This IP is only visible for administrators and is only intended to track down visitors abusing the FSX Addons comments or board system. The IP will then be used to set a ban. Never will FSX Addons publish an IP for a person to anyone else than the administrators and no administrator will use this IP in any other way than setting a ban on FSX Addons for that IP.

Advertising

DoubleClick DART cookies

  • We also may use DART cookies for ad serving through Google’s DoubleClick, which places a cookie on your computer when you are browsing the web and visit a site using DoubleClick advertising (including some Google AdSense advertisements). This cookie is used to serve ads specific to you and your interests (”interest based targeting”). The ads served will be targeted based on your previous browsing history (For example, if you have been viewing sites about Sports Cars, you may see Sports Cars advertisements when viewing a non-related site, such as on a site about hockey). DART uses “non personally identifiable information”. It does NOT track personal information about you, such as your name, email address, physical address, telephone number, social security numbers, bank account numbers or credit card numbers. You can opt-out of this ad serving on all sites using this advertising by visiting http://www.doubleclick.com/privacy/dart_adserving.aspx
  • You can choose to disable or selectively turn off our cookies or third-party cookies in your browser settings, or by managing preferences in programs such as Norton Internet Security. However, this can affect how you are able to interact with our site as well as other websites. This could include the inability to login to services or programs, such as logging into forums or accounts.
  • Deleting cookies does not mean you are permanently opted out of any advertising program. Unless you have settings that disallow cookies, the next time you visit a site running the advertisements, a new cookie will be added.
